Mercy Speaks Out For National Slavery And Human Trafficking Prevention Month!

On December 30th, President Obama issued an announcement that January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and we want you to join the fight for freedom! Eighty percent of human trafficking victims are females and ninety percent of human trafficking is sex trafficking. Mercy Ministries has been helping victims of sex trafficking for years, and we continue to receive more and more cries for help from young women who are victims of this horrific crime.

Our friends at Vanguard University Global Center for Women and Justice are posting daily action steps on their facebook page HERE to help you do your part to raise awareness about this critical issue. Today’s tip is:

Go to the US State Department website and read reports on the status of anti-human trafficking across the globe http://www.state.gov/g/tip/rls/tiprpt/2011/

Because many victims of sex trafficking are abused, homeless and in danger, one of the major keys to helping them is to provide a safe, residential program. At Mercy Ministries, we not only provide a residential program free of charge, but we show them the unconditional love of Christ who is the ultimate key to freedom and transformation!

Click here to see a video of one of our heroes – a Mercy graduate who was a victim of sex trafficking and had her life transformed and hope restored while at Mercy Ministries.

To find out more about how you can get involved and partner with Mercy to help bring hope and healing to more young women who have been brutalized by sex trafficking and other abuse, go to www.mercyministries.com. Together we can make a difference!
