Nashville Celebrates Freedom At Merry Mercy Christmas Benefit!

It was a night to remember with one-of-a-kind auction items, star-studded entertainment and a presentation by some amazing Mercy graduates that brought everyone to their feet. More than 450 supporters filled the ballroom of the Renaissance Nashville Hotel on Thursday night, December 1st for the Merry Mercy Christmas Benefit in Nashville.

This year’s event was chaired by Nashville media-culture entrepreneur, Dan Hammond and his wife, Cherie. Dan and Cherie have been longtime supporters of Mercy Ministries, and they encouraged everyone to give generously to help hurting young women have their lives transformed and hope restored.

The evening began with a silent auction which included beautiful original artwork, spa packages, tickets to area sporting events and exciting and unique travel packages to New York and Paris! If you were unable to attend but are interested in purchasing one of our many amazing travel packages to benefit Mercy, you can do so at our online auction store HERE.

Singer/songwriter and American Idol finalist, Melinda Doolittle, provided the entertainment, sharing some of her favorite Christmas songs, as well as her new, original Christmas song, "God Bless Us Everyone." You can check out this sure-to-be-classic tune by clicking here and choosing "Listen."

Guests then enjoyed a delicious dinner, followed by a few words from the Founder and President of Mercy Ministries, Nancy Alcorn. Nancy shared the vision of Mercy Ministries and the stories of heroic young women who have been restored to wholeness and are now taking the hope of Christ out into the world.

In a powerful illustration of restoration and healing, several Mercy graduates shared their incredible stories. Here are a few clips of these amazing young women:

There were many Mercy graduates who attended the event and celebrated with us. Nancy had them all join her on stage to show the far-reaching impact of supporting Mercy Ministries.

Also at the event were some of our very special Mercy babies. In 1992, Nancy sat for a photo with some children born to Mercy girls, who regardless of whether they chose to parent or place for adoption, chose life! A “faith picture” was taken as a symbol of the many lives that would be saved in the years to come as Mercy Ministries grew. Three of the four recently came to Mercy to visit and reenacted the picture taken years ago.

These three amazing young people attended the Merry Mercy Christmas Benefit and took the stage with Nancy as another great example of lives transformed and hope restored!

Our special thanks to Chairs Cherie and Dan Hammond and to Chairman Sponsor, LegacyTree Foundation. Thanks to Melinda Doolittle for providing the inspirational entertainment. Thanks also to Derrick Pierce for photographing the event.

Thank you to all of our amazing supporters for helping Mercy Ministries bring hope to the young women we serve. We continue to get more and more calls for help, and as the need grows, so must the financial support. Your donations make it possible for these girls to get the help they need completely free of charge and can make the difference between life and death.
