Mercy Ministries connected with some amazing and energetic student leaders this week from Belmont University and Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. Freedom For One, our initiative to reach college campuses, hosted a special event for more than 75 members of the International Justice Mission at Belmont and for 50 members of the Social Justice Club at Trevecca. It was standing room only as students and faculty at both locations gathered to watch a screening of the Candy Shop, a powerful film about the issue of domestic sex trafficking. Kristy Spring, Mercy’s Volunteer Director of Student Relations, and Eve Annunziato, Mercy’s Executive Director of Communications, then answered questions about the issue of sex trafficking in the U.S. and what Mercy Ministries is doing to help victims of sex trafficking and other abuse.
