Charlotte Celebrates Christmas With Mercy Ministries

Dream vacations, gourmet dinners, and amazing artwork were auctioned off at the second annual Charlotte Merry Mercy Christmas Benefit! More than 175 guests came out to the beautiful Palm Restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina to celebrate and support the mission of Mercy Ministries.

Renowned chef and local restaurateur, Jim Noble, and his wife Karen were the chairs of this amazing event. Jim and Karen have been longtime supporters of Mercy Ministries, and they encouraged everyone to give generously to help hurting young women experience God’s unconditional love and life-transforming power! Jim also donated a gourmet dinner for 12 to be prepared by him in the winning bidder’s home. The dinner was auctioned off live at the event with several bidders competing to win this popular item.

There was also a silent auction for guests to bid on that included some unique travel packages, beautiful artwork and some fun, themed gift baskets made and donated by Mercy supporter Wendy Blight’s Bible study group.

There were some beautiful necklaces available for purchase made by Amanda Thompson specifically to benefit the Mercy girls. The necklaces were made with 40 pink beads representing the 40 beds that will one day be available at the future Charlotte Mercy home.

Two amazing Mercy graduates, Alyssa and Heather, shared their powerful testimonies with our guests. After struggling with many life-controlling issues, 2004 graduate, Alyssa, found freedom and restoration at Mercy. Now she reaches out to others with the message of hope and healing that is possible through Christ. Heather, a 2003 graduate, shared that doctors told her she would never be able to have children because of the damage to her body from years of struggling with an eating disorder. Heather is now walking in complete freedom and was excited to announce that she is pregnant!

Lesley Gustafson, worship leader at Freedom House Church, coordinated the incredible music for the evening and performed a special inspirational song for our guests.

Our sincere gratitude goes to Event Chairs, Karen and Jim Noble, all of our Sponsors and the Merry Mercy Host Committee. Thank you to Bridgette Williams for donating her photography services at the event and to American AV for taking care of sound. Thanks also to our community board and all the many volunteers and staff for all of their hard work to make this event such a special celebration.

We continue to get more and more calls for help and as the need grows, so must the financial support. Your donations make it possible for these girls to get the help they need completely free of charge and can make the difference between life and death.
