Revolutionary Weekend at Joyce Meyer's Love Life Women's Conference!!!

Nancy with amazing Mercy grad, Kim Brownie
It was an incredible, life-changing weekend in St. Louis at the Joyce Meyer Love Life Women’s Conference! Founder and President of Mercy Ministries, Nancy Alcorn, was a featured speaker at the event, and the response of the 15,000 in attendance was amazing. Staff and residents from the St. Louis and Monroe homes were invited to attend as Joyce’s special guests.

Joyce kicked things off on Thursday night with a powerful word about looking for the “But God” moments in life, when God intervenes in times of trouble. Then, John and Stasi Eldredge took the stage Friday morning and shared about God healing the wounds of a woman’s heart. Friday evening, Joyce gave another impactful teaching about how obeying God is the way out of our problems.

Saturday morning started off with a Mercy testimonial video that brought everyone to a standing ovation as Nancy Alcorn took the stage. Nancy spoke about “The Why Behind the What” and shook things up by challenging everyone to ask themselves if God can trust them to love people that no one else wants to love. Here is a small clip from Nancy’s message:

One of the greatest highlights was when one of our Mercy heroes shared her incredible story of transformation. Nancy invited Mercy Graduate, Kim Brownie, to join her on stage, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Kim spoke about how she never knew who her father was and was abandoned by her mother at an early age. After years of violence, having knives pulled on her and being told she wasn't wanted, Kim's aunt sold her into sex trafficking when she was 12 years old. As the nightmare of her life continued, Kim wanted to die and began self-harming to cope with her pain. After her 28th failed suicide attempt, she cried out to God and said, "If you're not going to let me die, then you're going to have to help me live." The next day, she saw Nancy on a national television program talking about Mercy Ministries.

Not only did Kim graduate from Mercy transformed and free, she recently graduated from college and is now headed to graduate school. Kim also serves as a mentor to other young women. It was apparent that Kim has an amazing gift for speaking and she did not hold back, prompting another standing ovation. You won’t want to miss this powerful testimony:

Nancy’s dear friends, CeCe Winans and Israel Houghton, led heart-pounding, inspirational worship throughout the event.

Here’s what some of our Mercy residents had to say about the Love Life Women’s Conference:

This conference was very uplifting and timely. I really enjoyed listening to Joyce talk about surrendering to God and choosing life. I also loved what she said about doing what is right. I can’t compromise or I risk leading others astray. When we do what is right because it is right, we are assured victory. – Alleah

I realized at the Conference that the way to get victory is by having a good attitude and obeying God. I need to surrender to God completely. He should be the main focus. If I keep my eyes on God, I will have peace and joy. – Cheryl

The Joyce Meyer Conference was absolutely amazing. I loved all of the speakers. Joyce and Nancy’s messages always light me on fire! And they treated us Mercy girls like princesses! – Amanda

Nancy was so honored to be a part of this amazing conference, and it was awesome to see God move in power to bring impact to the lives of those in attendance. We are so grateful to host Joyce Meyer who is a longtime friend of Nancy’s and has been a generous supporter of Mercy for years. Joyce and her husband, Dave, were instrumental in opening our St. Louis Mercy home in 2005 by donating the property and funding the renovations on the house, and they have continued to be generous monthly partners of Mercy Ministries over the years.
