Australian Leader Visits Mercy…

During a 2006 visit to Cambodia, Leigh Ramsey encountered a young 12-year-old girl pleading for help for a friend whose parents were selling her to traffickers. While Leigh was content to be a mom to her four children, and Co-Pastor of Citipointe Church in Brisbane, Australia with her husband Mark, she realized that God had a new calling on her life - to help Cambodian children who were being sold into the sex trade.

Leigh is in town this weekend to speak at the REACH Conference at Oasis Church with Pastor Jillian Chambers and both of them came by the Nashville home yesterday to talk to the residents and staff about Leigh’s ministry, SHE Rescue Home in Cambodia.

SHE stands for Shaping Her Earth and Shaping Her Eternity. The SHE Rescue Home is a secure haven for Cambodian girls ages 5 to 15 who are at risk or who have been rescued from being trafficked. At the SHE Rescue Home, these beautiful girls get a safe and secure place to live, Biblical counseling, medical attention, and educational and vocational training. Many of the Nashville residents could relate to the tragic stories of the Cambodian victims and the need for a safe home and Biblical counsel. Their own struggles with life-controlling issues, often the result of abuse and neglect, is what brought them to Mercy.

Leigh and her sister-in-law, Hilary Ramsey, who serves as Director of the SHE Rescue Home, brought some of the items made by the Cambodian girls and their families as a part of their vocational training. They generously gave each Nashville resident and staff member an “IT’S NOT OK” bracelet. Another item they make is a handmade gift bag. You can purchase either of the items by clicking HERE.

The Mercy girls were impacted by what they heard and are excited to be the special guests of Oasis Church at the REACH Conference.
