Pastor Nora King Visits Mercy Ministries

Pastor Nora King
“Disappointment to Destiny” was the title of Pastor Nora King’s powerful message to the Nashville staff and residents yesterday. She is the author of “30 Days to a Better Prayer Life” and co-pastor of Redemption Church in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband, Pastor Ed King. Her message yesterday really resonated with everyone. Pastor Nora taught that “disappoint” means “to take away an appointment.” God has an appointment, a destiny and a purpose for each person and Satan would like to take that away.

She shared Luke 22:31-32, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Pastor Nora encouraged the residents that although Satan wants to sift them and take away their appointments, Jesus intercedes for them just as He did for Simon. She also reminded everyone to seek the counsel of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. The Nashville residents were really impacted by Pastor Nora’s teaching. Here’s what they had to say about what they learned:

Wow, this message was amazing! It really encouraged me to stand when the chaos of life shakes me. Yes, I definitely have disappointed people and life has disappointed me, but it’s amazing to be able to look back and say, WOW, God really delivered me. He sought me out, appointed me here at Mercy, approved of me and is restoring back to me all that was lost! - Jena

What she said was really encouraging to hear, and it was also very timely. I can’t give away my destiny to the enemy. The Word of God and the Holy Spirit are my counselors, and the Holy Spirit will never tell me anything contradictory to the Word of God. God is not mad at me, He just misses me. I want to say yes to Jesus, follow His plan for my life and trust in the Lord. - Jordan

I was impacted greatly! I was touched and now I have so much faith and hope. I am just so thankful that she came. I know that God is more than enough and I really need to just trust Him. I was changed today!! - Alison
