Fun-Filled Weekend With Mercy Ministries

From cookie decorating and face painting to photo shoots, the Mercy Ministries residents had an action packed weekend! After checking out the Christmas lights in downtown St. Charles on Saturday night, residents at the St. Louis home were especially busy on Sunday getting ready for their first ever Holiday Open House. All guests were given a tour of the home then invited to join everyone in the dining room for activities and refreshments. It was fun for the whole family with cookie decorating, ornament making, and face painting. The residents really enjoyed meeting our supporters and their families. Here are some photos from the event:

The Monroe residents got the royal treatment from local photographer Michelle Tripp and her team of volunteers. After having their hair, makeup and nails done, Michelle did professional individual portraits of each girl as well as a group photo. Each resident received a copy of her individual photo and the group shot and a gift bag with CD’s, lotions, and other girly treats. Here's what some of our residents had to say about the photo shoot:

The photo shoot with Michelle Tripp was such a blessing to me! As I am getting ready to graduate and reflecting on my time here at Mercy, the opportunity to get dressed up and feel beautiful in front of a camera reminded me of the beautiful internal transformation that the Lord has done in my heart throughout my time here. --- Allison

Honestly, I was dreading this photo shoot because I hate having my picture taken, but Michelle did such an awesome job. She made me feel comfortable and pretty. I was not expecting them to go all out like they did and it made me feel that they thought we were worth all of that. I was incredibly blessed by all of the gifts that they gave us and by the fact that Michelle took the time to make sure we all got the pictures that we wanted. ---Candi
