Visual Parables Supports Mercy Ministries Through Art

Artist, Bert Vandermark
About five years ago, artist Bert VanderMark founded his ministry, Visual Parables, as a way to equip people to communicate “visual” praise and worship to God through art. The inspiration for this ministry came from the example of Jesus, who often used parables to teach the truths of God’s Word. Bert has worked closely with the residents of Mercy Ministries, helping them understand the purpose of God-given creativity, see more clearly the truth of God’s Word in their lives, and to paint those experiences as an act of visual praise and worship. These powerful works of art tell their amazing stories of healing and transformation.

We are so excited to finally share some of these inspiring works of art with you and give you an opportunity to support Mercy through Visual Parables. You can now purchase the paintings done by our residents by visiting the website at www.visualparablesart.com and placing a bid in the online auction. All of the artwork has been donated by the residents and 100% of the proceeds will go to Mercy Ministries. Bidding starts at $175, the cost of caring for one Mercy girl for one day. By purchasing one of these paintings, you become a part of providing these hurting young women with the help they need, completely free of charge.

Here is some great video of a session with Bert and the girls as they describe their experience:
